Few things are as satisfying to me as finding the right words....
Writing is like creating a sculpture: carefully chipping away until what you can see is the clear image of the thought that inspired it: an idea, solution or game changing vision that can be shared, considered and discussed. It’s a versatile skill that has carried me successfully into various industries, from advertising to publishing, television to travel.
I like understanding the big picture to give the details a context, so I've taken on content manager and website editor positions for the likes of HSBC, Simpson Travel (for three years on a permanent basis) and confetti.co.uk, as well as some slightly more unusual roles...
I was the Interactive Producer for 15 Most Haunted Live! TV shows, a live three-night outside broadcast with viewing figures of over 350,000. It involved webcams, ghostly sightings, interactive viewer feedback and hanging about in the dark with psychics until the early hours of morning.
And I don't just write. I'm a coach too. It's a useful skill to have when it comes to understanding what really makes my copywriting clients tick. After all, it's their passion, knowledge and dedication that is the real USP of what they do.
When I'm not writing or coaching, I'm a frequenter of cinemas, galleries, restaurants and theatres and have an ongoing love affair with all that London has to offer, although like every good relationship, we do need some time apart. So I travel too, exploring cities, lying on beaches or being excessively pampered in a spa far, far away. It suspect it was what I was made for, along with writing, which I've done since I could hold a pencil...
